The programme is aimed at year 10 pupils across Warwickshire. Launching in February pupils will be given a ‘My World of Work’ journal to document their experiences, workshops and most importantly to create five key questions to ask employers in My World of Work 2020 apprenticeship events and My World of Work 2020 Week.
Throughout the programme there will be a series of workshops aimed to support our young people to develop “work ready” skills. Participants will be supported to build a strong understanding of different sectors and the career opportunities they offer.
Identifying personal skills, engaging with employers, key questions, application writing and CV building are just a few of the workshops featured in the programme which will help young people develop the confidence and skills to interact with employers in preparation for the World of Work.
There will be two key parts in the programme – My World of Work 2020 apprenticeship events (February and March 2020) and My World of Work 2020 Week (15th – 26th June 2020).
During the apprenticeship events education providers will host businesses and deliver activities, talks & workshops aimed at getting pupils interacting with employers.
During My World of Work 2020 Week pupils will have the opportunity to visit two sectors, one in the morning and a suprise sector in the afternoon for exciting and engaging activities!
We are looking for Schools to join “My World of Work 2020”. We have a team on hand to help you explore My World of Work 2020.
